I mean, wow...this EP still floors me at just how utterly pristine these perfectly crafted indie pop nuggets are.
Dreampop duo Sloe Noon are friends of Ciel (BBR#36) and as well as being incredible musicians have a guitarist/vocalist in Anna Olive who has a voice to die for.
Think of the UK equivalent of Snail Mail here or even the mighty Bettie Serveert in their 4AD phase (C'mon 'Palomine' is genius)...but with more dreampop tendencies mixed in...more shimmer, reverb flecked guitars, introspection and heartbreaking hooks.
But thats what we love right ? Songs that carry us away into their world ?

The 'Embassy Court' EP was originally released digitally in April and in a week had over 2000 hits! So here we have 5 tracks from that E.P plus 2 little instrumental pieces and a download extra exclusive to this release only!

So we have the stunning opener 'Underwater' that gently sways in with its simply guitars, rolling cymbals before the drums pick it up and off it shoots...a short instrumental brings us back down before the incredible 'Oscar Was Right' waltzes in, Anna's voice reaches for the stars, the guitars reach for the heart..
'Planestation' is pure dreampop, seductive waves of guitars, robotic drum machines, touches of electronics and again that flawless soaring voice; another short interlude before 'Blue Camo' closes the E.P with its lush hazy beginning before changing pace and almost going shoegazer with quivering guitars and its ghostly wurlitzer organ melody repeating until it become the lone instrument..
Its perfect...this EP is perfect....and its full of art, words, beauty and pictures.

Also this E.P comes in one of 3 double sided sleeves with a 12 page colour booklet full of lyrics, poems, art and photos, a sealed corresponding colour envelope containing a 9 track download code, BBR Letter, Sloe Noon Stickers, a Sloe Noon Postcard and a bag of Sloe Noon confetti.
